Muradin is a Tank champion that is very good at disrupting enemy teams. During the laning phase, he can focus on disturbing the enemy’s rotation by descending and knocking down the enemy with the help of Dwarf Toss allowing him to easily escape and Second Wind denied all the damage he took when he stacked up for the Baseline Quest on Storm Bolt.

In teamfights, he can play defensively – by ripping and/or counter-attacking for his team – or aggressive – by joining and/or plunging into enemy Heroes vulnerable.

Strengths and Weaknesses of Muradin

Muradin

Strengths:

  • Strong self-sustain
  • Decent crowd control
  • Good mobility

Weaknesses:

  • Inseparable from highly mobile Heroes (like Tracer)
  • Weak crowd control could stop Dwarf Toss

Talent Build Muradin

Basic Attacks Build

Perfect Storm (lv1) – Third Wind, Sledgehammer (lv4) – Reverberation – Thunder Burn, Give ‘em the Axe! (lv7), Avatar (lv10) – Haymaker, Bronzebeard Rage (lv13), Stoneform (lv16), Rewind (lv20).

His basic attack build combines good survivability with superior attack tools to continuously intimidate enemy Heroes at any stage of the game.

In particular, Give ’em the Ax! and Copperbeard’s Rage allows Muradin to put pressure on an enemy Hero in teamfights with one hand.

Synergies and Counters

Synergizes with:

Being able to track his Storm Bolt with a devastating burst damage combo is what makes Mage (eg Li-Ming) his ideal partner.

The sequence of crowd control abilities is so valuable in this game that there’s another Hero who can provide this kind of effect from another Role (such as Blaze playing as solo laner) in Your team will make him a real threat to the enemy team.

Countered by:

Heroes that can do percent damage (such as Tychus through Minigun) can cancel his Health very quickly, especially while in the Avatar.

When played fast enough, Crowd Control Skills (e.g. E.T.C.’s Face Melt) put a lot of pressure on him as they can stop Dwarf Toss, his only form of escape.

Maps of Muradin

In the hands of experienced players, Muradin is adept on the Map, where he can use his innate regeneration and maneuverability to harass enemy Heroes and allow play for your entire team by safely invading the opposing part of the Map in the early stage of Hanamura Temple battle).

On the other hand, he plays badly on the Map where the Goal takes a long time (eg Braxis Holdout) because he will eventually run out of mana, effectively negating his Traits value.

Tips and Tricks

  • Storm Bolt should be used patiently and in conjunction with the Slow Thunder Clap provided when possible.
  • Thunder Clap is a good ripping tool, especially against melee Heroes who rely on basic attacks.
  • Dwarf Toss allows you to retreat when the Health is low, but be careful when the enemy Heroes have control of the crowd.
  • Avatar is a maximum Health boost that protects you from explosive damage but leaves you percent vulnerable.
  • Haymaker should primarily be used to eliminate enemy Heroes rather than for teamfights by pushing enemy Heroes towards your team.

Role In The Current Meta

Muradin

Muradin is an all-round Tank that can provide vision, combat, and manipulation to teammates.

Thanks to Dwarf Toss allowing him to quickly escape when in danger, he can easily scout the opponent’s side on the battlefield to give his team a vision advantage, but only when the opposing team is in no charge. A tool to easily stop Dwarf Toss during its operation.

In teamfights, Storm Bolt and Thunder Clap are good crowd control tools that can be used to either engage enemy Heroes or transform Allied Heroes.

Unkillable Mura Build

Well, i dont tank,

But i saw this youtube video of a guy playing mura and explaining…

INSANE self-sustain, he jumped in 3 or 4 n stayed there self-healing and hammering damage, at end of the match, mura topped damage with 100k damage to hereos

Of course i tried doing it, but i got killed  , also coz in the youtube video the healer focused mura a lot.

For mura players plz chk this out and tell me.

1 = Perfect Storm Quest (or Block talent if high AA damage enemy)
4 = Reverberation (to increase SLOW after thunder clap)
7 = Give em the Axe (Increase AA damage +50% if attack SLOW or STUN target)
10= Avatar (to increase health n self sustain)
13= Bronzebeard Rage (Attcking SLOW/STUN hero increase damage n heal)
16= Stoneform (more heal)
20= Rewind (more thunderclap slow n storm bolt stuns)

What he did was, ensured that his level13 talent gave him extra heal by hitting SLOW/STUN target, which he kept on doing with thunderclap n storm bolt. and his level 7 talent ensured his attack damage stayed high throughout the fight.

This what I saw (couldnt mirror it well though)

1= Jumps in the middle of 3 or 4 enemy
2= Storm bolt stun + AA (to get increase damage for 3 seconds)
3= thunderclaps to slow + AAs (to continue increased damage and more heal from lvl13 talent)
4=Hit R to change into avatar when health reaches 25% and quickly hits D to maximize health gain (extra gained bcoz of avatar higher health bar)
5=n bash bash bash n rewind n jump out id needed, or rewind n Qs n Ws

Is this executable?

Instead of rewind I took Hardened Shield (75% armour for 4 seconds is HUGE) but i didnt use the jump to engage, but to disengage, sadly i always delayed the jump, or got a stun in the last second n got killed…

But i did damage insanely.

All MURAs out there, wht build do u go?

coz im inclined in learning mura, as i see i may hav to tank in SL at times.

Heroes of the Storm: Muradin Builds | Guide - February 2016

Our complete Muradin guide has everything you need to know about playing this Hero, with the latest builds, tips, map advice and counters.

Muradin's a tough old fighter in Heroes of the Storm, and he's certainly stood the test of time as one of the most powerful Warriors you can play in the game.

He's great at getting fights started and controlling the enemy so that your teammates can get stuck into the other side from a position of relative safety, and he's also very strong at peeling away aggressors that have got just a little too close to your squishier friends for comfort.

If it all goes wrong, Muradin can even make use of his Dwarf Toss ability to get out of trouble nice and quickly, while the very handy Second Wind Trait ensures his health remains topped up - as long as he remains out of trouble for a short while, that is.

Editor's note - February update: Muradin's a pretty stable character in the current metagame, so there aren't many outlandish Talent options to consider. We're sticking with last month's build for the month of February, and you'll also find some new Battleground advice for this Hero further on down the page.

Muradin strategy overview - February 2016

More so than just about any other Hero, Muradin's usefulness correlates directly with the player's ability to monitor what's happening across the map, and respond accordingly. Where are you team mates? Who's struggling? Your ability to either start a fight and absorb damage from the very start, or dive in to a problematic one and soak up the attention is a key part of playing this character.

Avatar will help you achieve this, while abilities like Thunder Clap will provide your allies with some much-needed breathing space. Perservere if the ability to land a solid Storm Bolt is taking a little bit of time to master - it's a key weapon in your arsenal.

Outside of team fights, don't get too greedy when it comes to clearing out lanes, and don't be afraid to lean on your Second Wind Trait in order to regain a little health and ensure you're fighting fit for the next challenge. On that note, always have one eye on your Mana pool while roaming the map, and avoid jumping into a big fight if you're down by more than 50% or so.

The best Muradin talent build - February 2016

Muradin shines when he's used to protect allies and act as a true tank for the team. While he retains some flexibility when it comes to the early Talent choices, here's a solid build that should serve you well in just about any team composition.

Muradin Tank

Level 1 - Reverberation - Enemies hit by Thunder Clap have their Attack Speed reduced by 50% for 3 seconds.

Level 4 - Thunder Burn - Thunder Clap leaves a zone on the ground that explodes after 2 seconds dealing 48 damage and applying a 25% slow for 2.5 seconds.

Level 7 - Piercing Bolt - Penetrates through the first target hit, hitting 1 additional target.

Level 10 - Avatar - Transform for 20 seconds, gaining 1022 Health and causing your Basic Attacks to stun enemies.

Level 13 - Thunder Strike - Thunder Clap deals 300% damage if only one target is hit.

Level 16 - Stoneform - Activate to heal for 50% of your maximum Health over 8 seconds. Second Wind is disabled during this time.

Level 20 - Hardened Shield - Activate to reduce damage taken by 75% for 4 seconds.

Muradin Abilities, Heroic Abilities and Traits - February 2016

We've covered the best Muradin build you can take into battle, but what exactly are the skills you have access to with this character? Here's a quick rundown of this Hero's powerful Abilities.

Abilities

Storm Bolt (Q)- Throw a hammer, dealing 242 (115 + 4% per level) damage to the first enemy hit and stunning it for 1.5 seconds. Mana: 60, Cooldown: 10 seconds.

Thunder Clap (W)- Deals 211 (100 + 4% per level) damage and slows enemies by 25% for 2.5 seconds. Mana: 50, Cooldown: 8 seconds.

Dwarf Toss (E)- Leap to target location, dealing 130 (62 + 4% per level) damage to enemies on landing. Mana: 70, Cooldown: 12 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

Avatar (R)- Transform for 20 seconds, gaining 2240 (1063 + 4% per level) Health and causing your Basic Attacks to stun enemies. Mana: 100, Cooldown: 100 seconds.

Haymaker (R)- Stun target enemy Hero, and wind up a punch dealing 699 (332 + 4% per level) damage and knocking the target back, hitting enemies in the way for 176 (84 + 4% per level) damage and knocking them aside. Mana: 80, Cooldown: 40 seconds.

Trait

Second Wind- Restore 84 (40 + 4% per level) Health per second when you have not taken damage for 4 seconds. When below 40% Health, increased to 169 (81 + 4% per level) Health per second.

Muradin counters and match-ups - February 2016

As with many Heroes, precise opinions on match-up strengths, weaknesses and synergies are hard to come by. Many different sites disagree on who plays well with whom, so we prefer to look at community curated resources like HeroesCounters for a quick picture of things. For ease of reference, here are the top five counters in each category for Muradin:

  • Strong against- Zeratul, Illidan, Chen, Nova, Li Li
  • Weak against- Leoric, Raynor, Johanna, Tyrande, Zagara
  • Teams well with- Kael'thas, Tyrande, Kerrigan, Tychus, Abathur

Muradin tips and battleground guides - February 2016

As with all Heroes in the game, it's a question of practise-makes-perfect when it comes to mastering Muradin. With that said, there are some useful tips that even the greenest of players can make use of in order to take their Muradin game to the next level quickly.

Try to keep the following in mind if you want to make a – good – early impression on your teammates.

  • When you find yourself all alone and in need of a rapid escape from fast-moving enemies, activate Reverberation to slow them down and buy yourself a bit of breathing/running space.
  • If you can enter a fight without using Dwarf Toss, then do so – this will allow you to instead use the skill as an emergency escape mechanism if it turns out you've bitten off a little more than you can comfortably chew...
  • As a tank, one of your core responsibilities is to block the escape path of your chosen target, so that your buddies can keep chipping away at their health pool from a distance.
  • If at all possible, you should really save the use of Stoneform for whenever Avatar is active. This will give you the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to keeping you up and running and causing mayhem on the battlefield.
  • Don't forget that your Second Wind trait will restore health while you're out of combat. Evaluate all of your options before automatically Hearthing back to base. A little bit of time out on your way to the next fight may be all you need - for now.

Battlefield of Eternity

  • The biggest advantage Muradin brings to this battlefield is his Sledgehammer ability. Crucially, it removes ammunition from any armed structures, which helps your Immortal immensely in the push along the lane it focuses on. Be there during the assault, and keep chipping away with this Ability.

Blackheart's Bay

  • Muradin's stun can make a huge difference on this map, particularly when it comes to preventing a Doubloon hand-in by the enemy team. You'll often face team fights where the enemy are clustered up, giving you plenty of opportunities to fire off your Dwarf Toss / Thunder Clap combo and get the fight going.

Fightin' Cowboy's videos helped us out a huge amount while we were learning the game. The builds have changed with balance patches and shifting metagames, but the broad principles remain the same.

Now discussing:

Is there anyone that doesn’t like Muradin? I mean, he’s one of the best tanks in Heroes of the Storm. Everything he owns is just perfect, and as the game goes through, it just becomes a lot more interesting to play. We are making this Muradin Talent Guide because we think he definitely deserves our attention.

This Build is how we prefer to play it as it seems to be working because we have around 70% win rate. We’re talking about lots of games played out with Muradin.

Muradin Build Guide

Muradin’s abilities are also CC related thanks to his stun and the AOE slow he does, plus the fact that their attack speed gets reduced thanks to Thunder Clap.

Muradin Build Guide – Tanky Tanky

Alright, Enough speaking, let’s jump straight to the talent guide. As we said, this is how we prefer playing it, if you do not like it or have a build on your own, you can easily contact us and we’ll make things happen.

Muradin’s step by step talents guide

By having all of these talents, this Muradin’s build might give you the advantage to survive throughout hard fights, really hard fights.

Getting Strong

After getting the Healing Static talent on Level 13, he can heal himself a lot, while his heroic is active. 5% or 25%, depends on you. If you hit the Thunder Clap like you should, that might heal you a big time. This is his survivability talent. Works really awesome.

Damage output

The next talent that comes after level 13 is Give ’em the Axe! This is when Muradin becomes really interesting. This will increase your damage output and Muradin will be able to get enemies off his way to success. Having this kind of build, you should be wrecking people down very easy.

It’s simple and easy to win games by playing Muradin, he’s definitely one of the best tanks in the game and also, after the level 16 talent, things will get a lot easier. As we said in our previous guides, It’s all about the experience, nothing else. So, make sure your team and you are not falling behind in terms of XP.

That’s pretty much it, we honestly hope that you’ll love this Muradin’s build. We also hope that you’ll get to win games by using this guide. This is the best you can get on Muradin, according to us. If you have anything else to say, please, let us know in the comments down below.
